It examines the role and the relationship of media art festival with information communication technology in terms of social communication and interaction. It is concerned with the strategies and values of the media art festival, the way it is pervading in the community, and what the social and cultural impact it brings to us. This document presents case studies of two media art festivals, ARS Electronica2003 and DMZ London 2003, and it attempts to find out the mechanisms behind media art festivals. It draws an outline of the experiences and roles of practitioners, producers, curators and audience in the festival and the positioning of new media arts in the community. | ||
