Approaches to information handling on the internet - Chislehurst : Ravensbourne College, 2005

MA dissertation : Networked Media Environments This paper explores some of the changing but increasingly important ways in which information is dealt with on the World Wide Web. It discusses the problems of search and finding the adequate information needed at present. It gives a thorough review of available platforms for information retrieval and dispersal, along with literature relating to, and critical of, such tools. It will debate the challenging task of evaluating existing information and examine the difficulty of identifying the actual meaning of content. A closer look at social networks and collaborative platforms will give insight into personal motivation and show the legal constraints concerning sharing. Finally a potential outlook will be given concerning the future of dealing with those issues.
