To explore how worldwide adoption of the internet has influenced the way people satisfy their fundamental need to feel loved by connecting with others. While television and radio revolutionised mass communication in the twentieth century, both were one way channels of information transfer. Both mediums, while useful for efficiently propagating a limited amount of information to mass numbers of people, were virtually worthless helping people satisfy basic needs of feeling a connection with others and a belonging to a group.
