Library Journal Review
This survey showcases the work of 41 international designers whose work, the authors assure us, represents the ``cutting edge'' of architecture today. The selected examples by Gehry, Starck, Morphosis, Ito, and others are alternately complex and charming, wacky and wonderful. Some look like the product of major air disasters; others appear more like sculpture. Unbuilt projects--of which there are many--are represented by impressionistic drawings, renderings, and models. Unfortunately, the text provides minimal information on the architects represented and little in the way of specifics about the buildings themselves. The end result is somewhat disconcerting and unsatisfying: the reader is given only a murky glimpse into the future of modern architecture rather than a clear view.-- H.
