This action-research adopts strategies from actor-network theory to explore how the ideas and practices of openness have influenced the formation of NODE.London towards the production of a season of media arts in March 2006. Asking how open the orginisation and activities of NODE.London are for access and contribution, in the context of the cultures surrounding the free/libre open source software movements, this research traces the development of its ideas and practices in the interactives of a selection of participants, organisational approaches, tools and artworks. It describes some of the traces and effects of these interactions to date.
