Common computer technology, the single user paradigm, does not support effectively synchronous co located collaboration. Researchers in the field of single display groupware believe that the use of shared displays in conjunction with multiple input devices can provide a more appropriate environment to support face to face collaboration and communication, important skills in human behaviour.Tangible user interfaces is a field taken by researchers who look into new ways of interfacing with computers. They open the graphical user interface space to rake elements of the virtual into the real, phusical world to make use of our spatial reasoning skills and everyday knowledge of manipulating physical objects. As both concepts incorporate the use of our everyday well trained human skills, this paper will propose to merge these concepts together and introduce the term of tangible single display groupware.
